Multiplier event of DisinformACTION!

On october 23 2024, students of the Master “Social Innovation and Territorial Development” from IADT school attended a Multiplier Event as part of the DisinformACTION! project. The main goal was to present the project in itself, but also the methods and the digital tools that were used. These students were of different ages and levels of expertise in the topic of sustainability and innovation. The theme of climate change was a concern for most of them, and the topic of disinformation quickly made them enthusiastic about the presentation.

The day after, on october 24 2024, the project was presented to more people at ITSRA (the social work school of Clermont-Ferrand and local partner of RESOPA on this project) of a social service direction course. They had a more social-centered approach and were curious about the non-formal methods used during the teacher training and their implementation. In total, 23 people were reached during these multiplier events.

Objectives of the event:
-
Highlighting the advantages: Illustrating the practical uses of the project's tools and how they help students comprehend and engage with climate-related issues.
-
Gathering input: Involving participants in discussions to obtain insights and recommendations for refining the methods and tailoring the tools to better address educational needs.
-
Emphasize on the impact : discussing the impact measurement of the outcomes and their link with the local dynamics of the territory, but also at European scale.
Presentation of the project :
A teacher who was trained during the project, implemented the method and participated on the bootcamp shared insights into the DisinformACTION! project and demonstrated how its tools can be used in classrooms to help students think critically about climate change information. The coordinator who trained this teacher also gave further details about the process and the challenges encountered. This presentation led to an interesting amount of questions, and a relevant exchange between the students and the teacher.
Debates :
This event was also a good opportunity for everyone to share their point of views and experiences. A 1 hour formal conversation led to an informal chats, after that, because not everyone had the same opinions on the topic of disinformation and the best way to fight against it.
Use of the Ambassadors methodology :
A few students gave their opinion by saying that other society topics could be tackled with the same method that was presented here. Immigration issue, current geo-political conflicts, equality : those topic seemed to be good candidates for another way of using the method.
What about the after-project ?
A certain amount of ideas were gathered about the “after” of the project : what long-term the outcomes will have ? Which project could emerge from the work done on DisinformACTION ? How could other organisations of the local territory stick with this way of working together and join other projects ? What could this type of CERV projects bring to the professional practices of social innovators in Clermont-Ferrand ?
RESOPA concluded the event by proposing to exchange contacts by writing them on the screen, in order to follow-up these conversations, as many interesting ideas were gathered and could lead to potential new projects in the field of youth, environment and social innovation. The diversity of profiles brought different opinions and suggestions, which made this multiplier event a great way of disseminating the work done with DisinformACTION and encourage the groups to go even further.
